Korinna Bonnie (Bean) Conron, 24, of Norwich, passed away on Saturday evening, July 9, 2016, at Duke University Medical Hospital.
Korinna was born June 4, 1992 in Norwich the daughter of Robert M. & Victoria J. (Chrzan) Conron. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease. Early on in her life she was saved through the excellent medical care provided by Dr. Richard Hosbach and the gentle nurses at Chenango Memorial Hospital. This was followed by wonderful care for over 20 years with Dr. Robert Miller in Allentown until the disease advanced to where a lung transplant was needed. Then came Duke Medical and the loving, talented folks who take tender care of these “Transplant Warriors”. The Lung Transplant team, the nurses of Duke 7800, ICU’s and 3100 are true angels. The donors are the saviors that bring a chance and hope of new life. We would be no where without organ donors.
Korinna graduated from NHS in 2010. She attended RIT then SUNY Oneonta. She worked happily for a short while at Holy Family School in Norwich where she helped with the secretarial duties. Her illness curtailed some of her activities and desires for life but it never stopped her spirit. Her ready smile and laugh will remain in our minds forever.
Korinna was predeceased by her dad Robert (Bob) Conron in 2007. She is survived by her mom Vicki, her sisters Kathryn Conron, Karen Conron Chamberlain and husband Patrick, and Kerry Beth Conron. Also surviving is her niece Josephine Chamberlain along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Korinna will be held on Monday, July 18, at 11:00 am from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
