GEORGETOWN: Mary E. Royce, 69, of Route 80 West., passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
She was born May 6, 1947 in Columbus, a daughter of the late Clarmont and Elvita Lewis and received her education in Franklinville schools. On May 28, 1988, Mary married Karl S. Royce in Oxford, a union of 28 years. Mary worked in food service at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton until retiring. She was an avid collector of knick knacks, such as salt and pepper shakers, oil lamps and farm animals.
Surviving are her husband, Karl; her children, Thomas Royce of Norwich; Ronald and Kristen Royce of Madison; Kevin and Jessica Royce of Cooperstown; Christopher Royce of Georgetown; and Mary (Royce) Diffey of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister, Belle Howe of Houston, TX; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Carol Hoffman of Norwich; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Also surviving are her special friends, Jennifer Taylor and Robert Seaton of Eaton.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, followed by interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Otselic.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
