Clifford H. Hotaling
Clifford “Butch” H. Hotaling, 72, of Sodus, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Newark Wayne Memorial Hospital, Newark, NY.
Born in Columbus, NY on May 17, 1943, Butch was the son of the late Clifford and Grace Hotaling. Raised in Columbus, he made his home in Sodus, NY for the past 20 years and had previously lived in Rochester. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for the Operator’s Union, Syracuse, NY. For the past 15 years, he was proud to call himself a gentleman farmer as he raised cash crops and hauled apples to various locations.
He is survived by his sons, Dale (Susan) Harrington, of Windsor, NY, Gregory (Valerie) Hotaling, of Cincinnatus, NY, and Bradley (Dawn) Hotaling, of Pitcher, NY. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Danielle (Joe) Grasser, Nick (Lindsay) Harrington, Lane Copitts, Zachary (Nellie), Jesse, Keaton, and Megan Hotaling; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Shayla, and Jake Grasser, Mackenzie and Madelyn Harrington, and Chase Patrick Hotaling; his siblings, Marion Meyers, Irene Izard, Lester Hotaling, Anna Senn, and Ruth (Richard) Horton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Arlene Hotaling, and a brother, Edward Hotaling.
A private graveside service will be held followed by a public time of remembrance at Norton Park, Columbus, NY, on Saturday, August 7, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.
