Dean C. Simpson, 78 of McDonough passed away on August 19, 2016 at his home. He was born on July 10, 1938 in McDonough a son of the late Ward and Edith (Wright) Simpson. On December 30, 1964 he married Beverly French, who survives.
Besides his wife, Beverly, he is survived by his children, Terry Lee Simpson, Jerry Dean Simpson, Larry Ward Simpson and his wife Vicki, Corey John Simpson and his wife Ann-Margaret, and Penny Lynn Simpson; his sister, Blanche Tefft and husband William; his brother, Robert and his wife Sue; his grandchildren, Christopher Simpson, Amanda Napier, Chasity Simpson, Adam Simpson, Courtney Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Steven Simpson, Bryan Simpson, Patti Simpson, Dakota Simpson and Daysha Simpson; his great grandchildren, Lexi Lynn, Melanie Mae, Allis May, Blake, Maddox Olivia and Jonathan Patrick. He was predeceased by his son, Brian Simpson, his brother Aubrey Simpson and his sisters, Vera Prestigiacomo and Esther Beckwith. He is also survived by his fur friend, Shadow.
Dean attended Oxford Academy and Central School. He served in the US Army and was a member of George Nightengale Post, American Legion. He was a 4th generation dairy farmer for many years and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was an honorary member of the McDonough Fire Department. He also served as McDonough Highway Superintendent for several years. He enjoyed bowling. He was a avid supporter of Chenango County 4-H.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with Pastor Richard Howard officiating. Burial will be later in Union Cemetery, McDonough.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service.
