OXFORD – Vasillios “Bill” Spyratos, of Schenectady, formerly of Oxford, passed away on Oct. 4, 2009 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
He was born on May 19, 1963 in Johnson City, a son of Spyro and Sara (Newbauer) Spyratos.
He is survived by his father Spyro Spyratos of Oxford; his brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Wendy Spyratos of Lynchburg, Va., and Jerry and Tina Spyratos of Oxford; his daughter Brittany of Oxford; his grandmother, Mildred Newbauer of South New Berlin. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his mother, Sara Spyratos, and his grandfather, Peter Newbauer.
Bill was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central High School, where he excelled in football. He then graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in refrigeration and electricity, achieving dean’s list while there. He enjoyed all sports, especially football.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
