NORWICH – Marjorie J. Berg, 79, of Norwich, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 5, 2009 at the home of her daughter in North Pitcher, with her family by her side.
She was born Feb. 8, 1930 in Smyrna, a daughter of Gladys and Horse Heath. A life-long area resident, she graduated from Sherburne High School. Marjorie was a member of the West Smyrna Baptist Church. She took great pride in her crocheting and loved to do word search and fill-in puzzle books.
Surviving are her children, Lewellyn (Pat) Berg, Marian Remillard, Maxine (John) Marshall, Madeline (Don, Jr.) Marshall, and Marcia (Roy) Marshall; a son-in-law, Elmer Case and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Berg; her grandchildren, Marie Cole, Sara Robbins, Roy (Clare) Berg, Sheri Berg, Amy (Anthony) Samples, Jonathan Williams, Sue (Jason) Eldred, Bill (Jamie) Remillard, Luke Remillard, Charles Shapley, Jr., Kim Shapley, Tanya (Brian) DeLee, Laurie Crowder, Alice Case, Bobbie-Sue May, Loren Berg, Roy (Haley) Marshall, Julia (Eric) Cookingham, Angie Marshall, Andrea (Jesse) French, Ronny (Rachell) Marshall and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, John (Mary) Heath and a sister, Millie (Richard) Edwards; as well as her special extended family at the 2 Sisters Café in Norwich. She was predeceased by two daughters, Marilynn Shapley and Marlene Case; two sons, Laurence “Pete” Berg and Lauren “Poncho” Berg; and a grandson, M. Richard Williams III.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Interment will be in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
