ONEIDA – James “J. P.” Jones, 66, of Waterloo, S.C. and companion of Barbie Campbell, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009.
Born in Oneida, he was the son of the late Kenneth Myron and Alice Mary Byrnes Jones.
Mr. Jones was an engineer.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Newman and husband Terry of Easley and Anita King and husband Michael of Travelers Rest; a son, Kenneth Jones and wife Lisa of Greenville; five grandchildren, Larry Hawkins, Jr., Tonya Day, Samantha Medford, Kenny Medford and Darian Jones; four great grandchildren, Caleb Sheppard, Landon Hawkins, Jadyn Segars and Kasen Segars; a sister, Mary Harvey and husband Robert of Middletown; a brother, David Jones of Utica; a niece Debbie Rice; and a special dog, Max. He was predeceased by Edythe “Auntie” Byrnes.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, in Greenville, S.C. The funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West.
