Savannah Williams, 18, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
Savannah was born in Hamilton on May 23, 1998 the daughter of Mark and Shari (Csiha) Williams. She graduated from the Norwich High School in June of 2016. While in school she was very active in many of the sports programs including basketball, soccer, tennis, track, bowling and taekwondo. Savannah was also a member of the Southern Tier NY Flyers National girl’s basketball team and a member of the National Honor Society. Active in her community, she was a member of SADD, YES Leads, the Big Brother Big Sister program and volunteered at the YMCA.
Savannah was currently a freshman at SUNY Geneseo majoring in biochemistry. Her dream was to work at the Center of Disease Control (CDC) to help find a cure for cancer. She was a member of the SUNY Geneseo women’s basketball team and active on civic related organizations including the outing club and attended the Christ Community Church.
Savannah’s kind and gentle spirit touched so many people. She was a beautiful person inside and out. We will remember her modest and humerous nature and her bright smile. She loved her dog Meeka, had a passion for animals and volunteered at a local veterinarian’s office.
Savannah had many interests but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, sewing with Grandma and SLEEP. With all that she was into she needed her SLEEP.
Savannah is survived by her parents Mark and Shari Williams of Norwich, brothers Zachary Williams and wife Katy and nephew Landon of Norwich, Alexander Williams and wife Sophie of Norwich, grandmother Connie Smith and life partner Richard Maddox of Norwich, Uncle Bruce Williams and wife Gina of Norwich, Aunt Linda Prusik and husband Tom of Naples FL, Uncle Andrew Cshia and wife Sandy of San Pedro, CA, Aunt Veronica Palmer of Webster, NY and Uncle Neil Palmer of Churchville, NY. Also surviving are cousins Danielle Williams, Dawn Cshia, Marissa Haney and Sarah Cshia.
Savannah was predeceased by her Uncle Thomas Cshia and Aunt Diane Williams.
A funeral service for Savannah will be held on Monday, December 26, at 4:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Fazio will officiate. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 1-4 pm.
