NORWICH: Samuel Salvatore Raffaele, 92, of Norwich passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born on July 13, 1924 in Norwich, the son of the late Gaetano and Frances Mirabito Raffaele and received his education in Norwich Schools. He had worked for the Chenango County Highway Department and then later retired from Proctor & Gamble, Norwich. Samuel was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Norwich as well as a former active member of the Norwich Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time at the library and reading.
Samuel is survived by a niece and her husband, Donna and Kim Nichols and their children, Sean, and Ashley Nichols; and two special care givers, Ginger Monday and Synthia Baron. He was predeceased by three sisters, Angelina Maxim, Catherine Raffaele, and Frances Blinebry.
Per Samuel’s request, no services will be held.
Burial will be held in the spring at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Norwich.
