MILDRED L. MANWARREN
Mildred L. Manwarren, 96, a longtime resident of South Plymouth, passed away Tuesday evening, May 9, 2017 In the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Mildred was born on January 27, 1921 in Oxford the daughter of Francis and Anna (Pfeil) Campbell. She attended the Oxford Academy School and graduated with the Class of 1937 at the age of 16. She then attended a one year post grad course at Oxford before entering Ridley Secretarial School in Binghamton graduating in 1939. Mildred had worked for the Norwich Knitting Mill and the Gaines Dog Food offices in Sherburne until her marriage to Francis W. Manwarren on March 3, 1941.
In 1946 Mildred gained employment with the WRC Home, known now as the New York State Veterans Home and in 1956 transferred to Chenango Memorial Hospital. In both places of her employment she worked in her field of study, secretarial, bookkeeping and clerical. She retired in 1983 after 27 years of faithful service.
Mildred enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, camping, fishing, sewing and traveling throughout New York State. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Later in life she enjoyed visits from her friends, family and her weekly television show such as Walker Texas Ranger and Blue Bloods.
Mildred is survived by her son Lewis (Jib) Manwarren and wife Connie of South Plymouth, two granddaughters Virginia DuBois of Georgetown, Deena Perro and husband Jeff of Mass. And her grandson Timothy Manwarren and wife Lori of South Plymouth. Also surviving are her 7 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Francis Manwarren, her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Stewart, 9 brothers-in-law, 9 sisters-in-law and one great great granddaughter.
A funeral service for Mildred will be held on Saturday at Noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the South Side Cemetery of Plymouth. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service at Noon.
