LORETTA M. MATHEWSON
Loretta M. Mathewson, 79, of Norwich, NY passed away on May 17, 2017. Loretta was born in Smithville Flats, NY daughter of Clarence and Samantha Youngs. Loretta is predeceased by her husband Richard Bassett, as well as her brother Clarence Youngs, and her niece Angel M. Beckwith.
Loretta is Survived by her children Terry and Pam Bassett, and Nancy Irwin. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Steven Youngs, Dennis Youngs, Patricia and Ray Wakefield, Brenda and Larry Kischner, and Kitty and Victor Williams. Also surviving Loretta are her 9 grand children and 3 great grand children.
Loretta was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, and worked for Norwich Shoe Co. for 28 years. She also worked at the Pegasus Company for 10 years, and was a member of Fort Hill Post 376 American Legion Auxillary, and was the Residence Council President for Chenango Memorial Hospital RHCF. She enjoyed crafts, wildlife, animals and dnacing. Loretta was also a member of the Bassett Family Band and The Burl Sayles Band.
