PETER J. RACCUIA
Peter J. Raccuia, 73, of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Norwich and Oneida, New York, passed away October 2, 2016 with loving family by his side. Born in Norwich, New York on March 19, 1943 he was preceded in death by his parents Peter Raccuia, Lucy Raccuia and Aurora Raccuia and brothers Michael and Joseph. Peter will be dearly missed by his sisters and brothers in law Kathleen and Frank Centro of Onedia, NY, Ninett and Anthony Singe of Saratoga Springs, NY, Anna and Daniel Bruno of Manhattan, NY, and brother Joseph and Linda Raccuia of Salt Lake City, UT. Peter was also a loving uncle and he will be fondly remembered by his many nephews and nieces and their children.
Following graduation from Norwich High School Peter worked at Norwich Pharmaceutical Company and proudly served in the US Army from 1965 to 1971. After relocating to Oneida, NY he was a valued employee for the City of Oneida working in a variety of capacities including taking great pride in the control of mosquitoes in Oneida. After retiring in 2004 Peter enjoyed his retirement years traveling and settling in Florida. Peter was a kind and gentle person and will be remembered by all who crossed his path for his sense of humor and individualistic and optimistic spirit.
Peter’s life will be celebrated in a private family memorial service at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Norwich, NY on Saturday June 3, 2017. Arrangements are being handled by R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
