CASEY LEE SCHUNK
Casey Lee Schunk, 26, of Cortland, passed away June 22, 2017 struggling from a drug addiction. Casey wanted nothing more than a “normal” life; free from the chains of addiction. Although her story has come to a sad ending much too soon, we will always remember her for her charming personality, her beautiful smile, and always having her hair and make-up done to take her selfies. Casey was always happy to hear a Nikki Minaj song playing or her favorite song; “Waiting for Superman” by Daughtry. Casey was a Dallas Cowboys fan and loved the color Pink. She was born September 13, 1990.
Casey is survived by 3 children: Jayden, Justice and Jaxson; her mother, Vicky J. Bliss; step-father, Michael C. Bliss; sister, Tyah J. Schunk; brothers, Ronald G. Schunk and Joshua VanHouten; step-sisters, Jessica R. Bliss, Michelle J. Davis, and Kara A. West; and step-brother, Michael P. Bliss. She is also survived by her grandmother, Marion Arnold; and aunts and uncles: Melinda and William Barse, Deborah Smith, Timothy and Tammy Schunk, Thomas and Teri Schunk, Charles Arnold and Vicky Coy, Bonnie Arnold and John Martarello, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Casey was predeceased by her father, Ronald G. Schunk; grandparents: Dorothy and Ronald Schunk and Charles Arnold; her uncles, Richard Smith and Richard Arnold; and her brother, Thomas S. Norwood.
Casey was an incredible young woman who tried her best to take the steps to change the course of her life, but ultimately her addiction won the battle.
