GREENE – Wanda Mae Fiaschi (Granny), 82, enered peacefully ino the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Fiaschi.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Edward (Ted) Roberts; daughter, Teresa Boland; her son, Robert Fiaschi, daughter-in-law, Susan Fiaschi; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Linda Fiaschi; two brothers, Donald and Charles (Buddy) Cummings; one sister, Pat Cummings; two beloved sisters-in-law, Alice Skahan and Genevieve Cummings; 16 grandhildren and numerous great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Granny loved to cook. She was quick to prepare a meal for family and friends anytime, day or night, and many found solace and hospitality at her table. She was generous with her worldly possessions and would often go without in order to help her family, friends and neighbors in their time of need. She led several Bible Studies throughout the years and inroduced many to faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Binghamton.
Funeral and committal services will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene. Private burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Friends of the family may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Root Funeral Home.
