OXFORD – Janice A. (Hulbert) Baker was called home to her Lord on Oct. 26, 2009.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1935 in Chenango Forks, to the late Clarence and Louella Hulbert. She was predeceased by her brother Merritt; sons, Steven and William and daughter Kathern.
She is survived by her sister, Jannette Nelson of Greene; her son Robert Baker Jr. and wife Ileen of Utah and their children, Jesse, Lance Cpl. Kenny, Taryn, as well as Robert’s son Chad and wife Kelly of Ohio and great grandchildren, Corbin, Katie and Kaleb; and Robert’s step son Joey and wife Sarah of Owego and their children, Quinton, Joey, Jr., and Emily; her daughters, Denise Baker of Norwich and Betty Leahy of Oxford and grandchildren, Dillon, Nichole and Eli. She is also survived by her former husband Robert Baker Sr. as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Janice spent many years as a mother and homemaker. She also worked in several fields over the years, including factory work such as a sewing machine operator with Champion Products and sales of both Tupperware and Rawleigh Products.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, with the Rev. Neil Bendixen, pastor of the Canasawacta Valley Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be private in Warn Ten Broeck Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Cancer Society.
