ROME – Scarlet R. Gies, 29, of N. Madison St., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at her home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1979 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the daughter of Frederick T., III and Judith A. Reynolds Gies. She received her education in Sherburne-Earlville and Hamilton Central Schools and received her associate degree from Onondaga Community College. Scarlet was an artist and a music enthusiast who pursued life on her own terms. She was a beautiful, fun-loving woman with a phenomenal laugh who will be dearly missed.
Surviving to mourn her loss are her loving mother, Judith “Judy” Reynolds of Rome; her father, Frederick “Butch” Gies III of Virginia; a brother, Jim Pfeiffer of Detroit, Mic.; four nephews, James, Charles, Alex and Jeremy; a niece, Brittney; many aunts and uncles, including, Joan and Charlie Stimson of Princeton, Mass.; Phil and Rita Reynolds of Ballston Spa; Russ Reynolds of Sherburne; Sue and Frank Frair of Sherburne; several cousins including Pat Chase of Sherburne; Kathleen Yasas of Glen Cove; Thaddeus Chase of Sherburne; Nicholas and Crystal Chase of Columbus, Ga.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne with interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
