Claire Marie Braun, 94, of Oxford NY, passed away on October 13, 2017. Claire was born in Richmond Hill, NY daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Dittrich. Claire is predeceased by her parents and by her husband John Braun. She is also predeceased by her brother Ronald Dittrich and her son-in-law James Holman.
Claire is survived by her daughters Caroline Holman and Janine Braun. Claire is also survived by 8 loving grandchildren, and many loving great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Claire was an executive at Macy’s Department Store in Long Island and worked at the Carol Ann Shop in Norwich, NY for many years. Claire belonged to many memberships throughout her life including St. Joseph’s RCC, the St. Joseph’s Society, she was a 38-year member of the Joseph Jefferson Book Club, and belonged to the Oxford Historical Society, the Oxford Birthday Club, and the Oxford senior group. Claire was a past president of the Church Women of Oxford and a past president of St. Joseph’s RCC Council. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed volunteering at Chenango Memorial Hospital and The Classic Car Museum in Norwich, NY.

Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830 on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s RCC in Oxford, with Father Paul Machira officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
