Althea V. Tompkins, 92, of Oxford passed away on November 27, 2017. Althea was born in Shinhopple, NY. Daughter of the late Floyd and Edith Fitch. Althea married her husband Everett “Larry” Tompkins on March 2, 1947 in Walton, NY. She is predeceased by her husband Larry, her sisters Mildred Atkinson, Edna Doing, Lillian Palmer, and Frances Natoli. She was also predeceased by her brother Robert Fitch.
Althea is survived by her sons Gary and Barbara Tompkins, Mark and Pamela Tompkins, and Larry Tompkins. She is also survived by her sister Joyce and Bill Hemstrought and her grandchildren Nathan and Rachel, Erin and Jerry, Trevor and Joanna, Jeniffer and Marc, Jacob, Joshua and Jessica, Tonnia, Jeremy and Betsy, Rebecca and Drew, Keith and 17 loving Great Grandchildren.
Althea’s family meant everything to her. She loved spending time playing Bingo and Yahtzee with her grandchildren and picking raspberries. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her family and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Althea’s memory can be made out to the Oxford Fire Department and Emergency Squad.
