Mark A. Magistro Sr., 59 of Norwich passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter on Wednesday Dec. 27, 2017. He was the son of the late Janet (Depew) Magistro and the late Angelo “Buff” Magistro. Born in Norwich on Aug. 5, 1958 he attended Norwich Schools and worked in the Norwich Shoe Factory. Mark was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and an avid cook, gardener, am enjoyed boating, and hunting. Mark moved to Oswego, NY in the late 1980’s where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He resided there until 2013 when he moved back to Norwich where he worked for ProTel and Rytek as a Fiber Optic Installer. He is survived by the mother of his son, Mary C. (Woods) Magistro, his son Mark A. Magistro Jr. both of Oswego, NY, his daughter Danelle R. “Nellie” Magistro, his granddaughter Margo M. Magistro both of Norwich, his stepchildren Kristopher S. Holloway, James R.(Ryann) Wyman, David R.(Helen) Wyman, Tara L. Wyman, and Jenna M. (George) Eason, all of Oswego, his brothers Michael Magistro of Norwich, David (Annette) Dyer of Gainesville FL, Robert (Kim) Dyer of Ontario NY, Craig Dyer of New Berlin, his best friend, Darlene Beckwith and lifelong friend Marty Provo, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by many. Mark was predeceased by his parents and his brother Steven Magistro. At Mark’s request there will be no funeral service or calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
