Lenore Mae Crandall


Lenore Mae Crandall, 91, a 50 plus year resident of Bainbridge passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018, at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home of Norwich.
Lenore was born on October 19, 1926 in Johnson City, NY the daughter of Joseph and Lena (Decker) Adams. She grew up in Norwich and spent her High School years in Johnson City graduating from Johnson City High School in 1944. On March 16, 1946 she married Dennison R. Crandall in Norwich, New York and was his devoted wife until his passing in June 2003. She worked for a brief period of time, 1948-1953, for the Scintilla (Bendix) corporation in Sidney New York as a typist but choose to stay at home and take care of her family. Lonny was very involved with her family and in her community. As her children were growing up she volunteered as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, as a Cub Scout Den Mother and as a Sunday School teacher at the United Methodist Church in Bainbridge. She was a member of the Bainbridge Woman’s Club, the Greene area Red Hatters and a former member of the Elk’s Auxiliary of Sidney.
Lonny will long be remembered for her generosity and compassion, for keeping a home where family, friends and neighbors always felt welcome, and for her smile. She was a true lady who was always there for her family and her community.
Lenore is survived by her children; Dale Crandall and wife Judy of Trumansburg, Connie Crandall-Crosby and husband David of Reading, PA, her grandchildren Kimberly Crandall and spouse Ashley Crandall, Carla Crandall, Caitlin (Jon) Vaughan and her great grandchildren Carter and Avery Crandall and Logan and Madison Crosby. Also surviving is her brother Joseph Adams.
Besides her husband Dennison, Lenore was predeceased by her grandson Christopher Crosby and brothers Roy, Robert and Charles Adams.
A funeral service for Lenore will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home of Norwich. The Rev Cheryl Hine, Pastor of the Bainbridge Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 12-1 pm.
