Timothy J. Donnelly (Tim), 59, of Plymouth and a lifelong resident of the Plymouth and Norwich area passed away Friday morning, January 26, 2018, at the Strong Hospital in Rochester with his wife and daughters by his side.
Tim was born on January 26, 1959 in Norwich the son of Frederick and Mildred (Murray) Donnelly. He attended the Norwich schools and was a 1977 graduate of the Norwich High School. He began his working career with his dad in the operation of Bush & Donnelly Car Sales and Repair. Continuing on in the automotive area he worked for Smith Ford, Monroe Muffler, Advanced Auto Part, Cole Muffler and most recently as Asst. Manager of Mavis Tire.
Tim could always tell you what was wrong and what you needed when it came to cars. He was always the “go to guy”. Throughout his life Tim was most happy when he was under the hood of a car. Anything to do with cars or trucks, specifically Chevy’s or GMC, he was there to repair it. He was a familiar sight at most derby days and loved attending the demolition derbys throughout the area. In his leisure time he enjoyed putting together model cars and reading comic books. He had a heart of gold, a sense of humor and enjoyed being somewhat of a prankster.
Tim is survived by his wife Melissa of Plymouth, his children Amanda Shaver of Norwich, Tiffany (Greg) Wrench of Greene, Heather (John) West of Sidney and Desiree Rothwell of Plymouth, his sister Cheryl (David) Wilson of Greene and his grandchildren Ryleigh, Kadynce, Jaxson, Spencer and Avree. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends.
Besides his parent Fred and Mildred, Tim was predeceased by his brother Rick, an infant grandson, niece Amy, nephew Matthew and his beloved dog Paisley.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Saturday from 1-3 pm followed by a Celebration of his Life at 4pm from the funeral home.
