Pamela C. Famolaro, 56, of Hillview Drive, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown after a courageous battle against cancer.
Born August 15, 1961, in Savannah, GA, Pam was the daughter of Truluck and Christine (Williamson) Collins. After graduating from Miami Dade High School, she completed coursework at a local college and earned a certificate in accounting. While living in Homestead, FL, she met the love of her life, Michael T. Famolaro, who survives. Michael was stationed at a nearby Air Force base at the time. The two were married on April 16, 1983 in Fort Walton Beach where they stationed. Together they would spend 35 years in joyful marriage.
While Michael served in the Air Force, Pam stayed at home to raise their three beloved children. Despite his military service, she was the one known (affectionately) as the “drill sergeant” at home. Pam absolutely loved being a mother, and was exceptionally family focused. After 17 years of residing in Florida, Pam and her family moved to Dover, DE. When Michael retired from the Air Force, Pam and her family relocated to Norwich in 2001. In Norwich, Pam began working in the accounting office at the NBT Bank headquarters until her illness prevented her from doing so.
In addition to her love of being a wife and mother, Pam very much enjoyed reading. She also adored animals, especially her pets. Later in life, Pam would find great joy in being a grandmother.
In addition to her husband, and her mother, Christine, Pam is survived by her children Nicole (Mike) Monroe, of South Plymouth, Jessica (Chad) Brown, of New Berlin, and Kyle Famolaro, of Norwich; grandchildren Tristan and Zack Monroe, and Chase and Hailey Brown; sisters Samantha Bobek and Kim Collins, each of Florida; mother-in-law, Marianne Famolaro, of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Truluck.
To honor Pam’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services or calling hours. Contributions in Pam’s memory may be made to: Oneonta Cancer Center at A.O. Foxcare Center, 1 Norton Avenue, Oneonta, NY 13820. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Wilson Funeral Home. To leave the family a message of condolence, please visit: www.wilsonfh.com.
