Grace I. LaBore, born December 23, 1948 passed away peacefully on March 24, 2018. Grace was predeceased by her parents Earl and Elnora Hawley and her husband Chester Smith, JR.
Surviving Grace is her loving sister who she was very close to Lorena(Brad) Auwater of Oxford and 3 nephews and a niece Her children Karen(Paul) Roe of Greene, Chester Smith JR. (Amy Williams) of Norwich, Rebecca(Scott) Seeley of Schenectady, David Smith of Norwich and James Smith of Norwich. Grace was also very fond of her children’s siblings Francis Smith of Coventry and Barbara Dewey of Norwich, and William Willard of Cincinnatus also held a special spot in Grace’s heart. Grace loved and was very proud of her 16 grandchildren.
Grace married Chester Smith, SR in 1969 they divorced in 1982, but remained close throughout the years until Chester death in 2007. Grace was very close to her children and loved spending time with them and her grandchildren, she enjoyed puzzles and loved horses, she was an avid Star Trek fan and read all the books and watched all the movies, she also enjoyed old westerns. Grace was a loving and caring person, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for Grace will be held at Behe Funeral Home in Oxford at a time to be announced.
