James (Jim) Ryan of 8 Vicki Circle Greenville, SC passed away peacefully at home on 4/19/2018 after a long and hard fought battle with Parkinson’s.

Jim was born in Utica, NY in 1929 and was a graduate of Norwich (NY) Senior High.

After being stationed in Japan while serving in the US Army Jim returned to Norwich, NY and started his career with Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals.

In 1968 Jim and his family moved to Greenville, SC to start up the new Norwich Eaton plant there. He spent 37 years with Norwich Eaton and upon retirement started a new career with the Insignia Corporation in Greenville SC.

After retiring yet again he became a volunteer on the Transportation Committee for the BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf tournament. Jim served the committee with great enthusiasm for many years.

Jim was predeceased by his wife Joyce Arlene Gray Ryan. He is survived by his daughter Cathy Windell of Little River, SC and his son Michael Ryan of the home. He is also survived by his brother Francis Ryan of Tucson, Arizona and his grandchildren Ryan Windell, Scott Windell and Joey Windell. Jim is also survived by his niece Sandra Smith of Norwich and his nephews Ed (Dorothy) Smith of North Norwich, Robert (Sandra) Smith of Norwich and Jim (Virginia) Smith of Chittenango.

The family will have a private ceremony to scatter his ashes. A celebration of Jim’s life will be scheduled soon.
