Dorothy L. Hall, 94, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Chenango Memorial Hospital’s Residential Health Care Facility.

Born January 4, 1924, in South Otselic, NY, Dorothy was the daughter of George T. and M. Lucille (Jackson) L’Hommedieu. She was a 1941 graduate of South Otselic High School, then in 1943 earned a degree from business school in Rochester, NY. Dorothy would go on to work in the business offices at Chenango Memorial Hospital for 36 years until her retirement in 1989.

On December 27, 1949, Dorothy married the love her life, Robert Hall, who survives. Together they would spend 68 wonderful years together.
Dorothy quietly adored her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found happiness with the simplest pleasures in life that she learned from growing up in the rural community of South Otselic, NY. She also had many fond memories of her grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Jackson, and the time she and her siblings spent with them.

Dorothy was an active volunteer at the Chenango County Historical Society Museum, and enjoyed working in the outdoors tending to her flowers as well as feeding the wild birds.

She was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church and the Chenango County Historical Society.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her sons Kevin and his wife, Deborah, and Bradley and his wife, Colette. Her grandchildren Todd and Heather Hall, Scott and Molly Hall, Kiernan and Sean Hamilton, and Karlie and Paul Brandofino; her great-grandchildren: Connor & Leah Hall; Matthew, Joey, Nicholas and Ellie Hall; Ireland, Nellie and Seamus Hamilton; her brother and his wife: Richard L. and Elaine L’Hommedieu; sisters-in-law: Norma L’Hommedieu, and Marion L’Hommedieu, Ruth L’Hommedieu, Dorothy Bauder.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sister, brother-in-law and brothers: Jeanne Crawford, Fletcher Crawford, Harry J. L’Hommedieu and J. Leonard L’Hommedieu.

Respecting her wishes here will be no calling hours. A graveside service for Dorothy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Valley View Cemetery, 116 Gorge Avenue, South Otselic, NY 13155.
