NORWICH – Mathew C. Redenback, 24, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Dec. 4, 2009, in Norwich.
Born in Sidney in March of 1985, Mat attended school in Afton, Greene, and Norwich. A free spirit who loved to skateboard and was an incredible artist. Mat worked as a free-lance carpenter in the Norwich area. He and his brother Alex were best friends and shared a special bond.
Mat is survived by his parents, Sarah J. Reilly of Norwich and Stephen Reilly of Norwich; his son, Alexander Purdy of Binghamton, and his brother, S. Alexander Reilly of Norwich. He is also survived by his grandparents: Myra Markham and her companion Pete Gilbert of Plymouth, Margaret Reilly of Norwich, and Dot Beeching of Sherburne; and by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mat was predeceased by his half-brother, Seth Muehring, and by grandfathers Thomas Reilly and Robert Beeching.
Funeral services for Mat will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. Rev. Nicholas Purdy will officiate.
Interment will be at the convenience of Mat’s family. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
