Roger E. Jeffrey, 82, of Oxford, NY, passed away peacefully on June 27,2018 with his loving wife by his side. Roger was born in Smyrna, NY son of the late Homer and Nettie (Collins) Jeffrey.
He is predeceased by his parents and by his son Roger E. Jeffrey Jr., his daughter Debbie J Demming, his son-in-law Ken Demming, and his brothers Walter Jeffrey, Lee Jeffrey Sr., and Danny Jeffrey.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Lorraine R. Jeffrey, his sons Mark A. Jeffrey (Diane), and Timothy P. Jeffrey (Peggy). He is also survived by his daughters Brenda Cyle (Gerald) and Christine Jeffrey, and his step children Jonathan A. Ryan (Avery) and Kelly J. Webb (Hartley). Roger is also survived by his sister Marjorie M. Bates (Bradley E.), his grandson Charles Demming and his close friends Ross and Kathy Joscelyn.
He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Houghtaling families.
Roger was a life time member of the VFW, was a member of the McDonough American Legion Post # 1478 for over 40 years and served in the Honor Guard.
He was also a member of the Greene Train Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years and enjoyed operating heavy equipment.
He loved hunting, fishing, and making airplanes out of recycled beer and soda cans.
He also drove the “Hula Lady’s” float in the Chenango County Fireman’s Parade for over 20 years.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Roger’s name can be made out to the McDonough American Legion Post # 1478 at 1136 County Road 5, McDonough, NY 13801.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc, 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 15 at 4:00 PM sharp at the family home 128 N. Tyner Road, Oxford, Ny 13830.
