NORTH NORWICH – A. Peter Dean, 73, of Route 12, passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at his home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1936 in Norwich and attended Norwich schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., serving from 1953 to 1957. Peter married Judy Willcox in Norwich on April 8, 1961. Mr. Dean was in agricultural sales and service working with many area farmers until his retirement. His many interests and hobbies included bowling, hunting, fishing and gardening.  He was also a volunteer for the alert system with the Norwich Fire Department, and a member of the American Legion in Norwich. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife, Judy; his children, Lisa and William Doughty of North Norwich; Larry and Becky Dean of Norwich; Lynn Franck and her companion Bruce Fink of North Norwich; Liane Dean of Louisville, KY; and Lorinda Dean of North Norwich; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Harry Staudenmeyer of Alexandria Bay; an aunt, Anne Simmons of Syracuse; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
Services and interment with military honors will be private at the convenience of his family.
