NORWICH – Janice M. Ward, 72, life-long Norwich resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, Dec. 9, 2009, in the Gilmour Health Care Facility.
Born in September of 1937, Janice was the daughter of William Law and Mary Newton. Growing up in Norwich in the care of Daisy Fargo, she attended the Norwich schools and worked for a time for the Norwich Shoe Company, the Rea-D-Pak in North Norwich, and for Quality Care as a home health care aide.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Merrie Horton of Norwich, and her son, Robert Ward and wife Mildred of Florida; by her sister-in-law, Isabelle Calvert of Edmeston; by five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Ward; by her brother, Dutch Law, and half brother, Russell “Gene” Wilcox.
Funeral services for Janice will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, Norwich. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, pastor of the Earlville Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Sherburne West Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 9 to 11 a.m.
