Barbara Jean (Mills) Morgan, 94, formerly of Earlville, NY, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 in Shelbyville, TN. where she has resided for 18 years.

She was born October 9, 1924 in Schoharie, NY, a daughter of Adrian and Elizabeth “Betty” Davenport Mills. She was a graduate of Earlville (NY) Central School and Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY.

On November 14, 1942, Barbara Jean married Seth E. Morgan at the “Borden Farm” in Earlville. “Jean” as she was known to friends and family, was the secretary and bookkeeper for their business, Seth Morgan, Inc. in Earlville.

Seth and Jean moved to Tucson, AZ in 1969 & lived there for 30 years. While residing in Tucson, AZ, she had been a claims agent for HUD/FHA, and an administrative assistant at the University of Arizona. Seth predeceased Jean on December 22, 1991.

Jean had been a member of Earlville Baptist Church and the Earlville Fire Department Auxiliary while living in Earlville. While she lived in Shelbyville, Tn. she was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, David W. Morgan of Owenton, KY. and Joan Morgan Hall of Shelbyville, TN; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Rosalie Davie of VT and Sally Mills of Eugene, OR.

She was predeceased by a brother, George Mills and two sisters, Helen Angel and Muriel Clark.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Thursday, October 25, 2018 in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, NY.
