SIDNEY – Helen L. Cone, 94, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at the New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford.
Helen was born Dec. 25, 1914, daughter of the late Edgar and Elsie (Dean) Harris in Masonville. She was a former resident of Unadilla and Wells Bridge. She was married to Leonard G. Cone April 12, 1963 in Unadilla. He predeceased her on Feb. 17, 1971. She worked for Amphenol Corporation in Sidney and retired in 1978. She was a member of the Local #1529 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Roof and Victor Tiffany of Oxford; her sister, Marguerite Froehlich of Earlville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was predeceased by her son, Ronald Roof; her daughter Jean L. Warner; sisters Laura Hubbard, Verna Manwarren and Evelyn Ford.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton, at the convenience of the family.
