GEORGETOWN – I. Jean Straight Kitchell, 71, of Route 26, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
She was born Oct. 22, 1938 in the Town of Lebanon, a daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Close Straight and received her education in local schools. Jean had worked at the Gladding Corp. in South Otselic and later was a housekeeper for several Hamilton area families. She was a member of the Georgetown Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Dorinda Close of West Eaton; her grandchildren, Scott, Katie, Patrick, Victoria and Alexander; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cora Rivers of Smyrna; Frances and Leslie Dick of Georgetown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Barbara Straight of Sherburne; Robert and Deborah Straight of Georgetown; many nieces and nephews, including David and Lori Robinson of Oswego; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Burial will be in the Earlville Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
