GUILFORD – Joseph P. Pruskowski, 94, of Guilford passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2010 at his home.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1915 in Manhasset, a son of the late Peter and Catharine (Szarek) Pruskowski.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Joseph and Sharon Pruskowski of Woodenville, Wash.; his grandchildren, John Pruskowski of Guilford, Justin Pruskowski of Woodenville, Wash. and Erin O’Connell of Redman, Wash.; six great grandchildren also survive.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served in Central Europe, where he received the Bronze Star. He retired from the Raymond Corporation after 18 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and golf and was known as the consummate tinkerer.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Allen C. Lang, pastor of the United Church of Oxford officiating. Burial will be Friday at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guildford Fire Department.
