SOUTH EDMESTON – Louise E. Elfeldt, 101, of South Edmeston, passed away Jan. 2, 2010 at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin.
She was born Oct. 13, 1908 in Pittsfield, the daughter of Carroll & Mabelle (Matteson) King. Louise was married to Perry Mayne in 1926, who predeceased her in 1928. She later married Edwin Elfeldt in 1935, who predeceased her in 1988.
Louise spent her childhood in the South Edmeston area and attended the local schools in South Edmeston and New Berlin area. She had been employed by Kraft Foods of South Edmeston.
Louise was a life long member of the South Edmeston Community Church where she served as a Trustee, Deaconess and Secretary to the Trustees.
She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law: Jean E. & Lowell Greene of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Shelby Jean Elfeldt; granddaughters: Mrs. Edgar (Susanne) Morlang & Ms. Donna Cosenza; grandsons: Edwin & David Elfeldt; five great grandchildren: Daniel Morlang, Alan Morlang, Skyler Elfeldt, Matthew & Erin Elfeldt, and one great great granddaughter: Jessica Slater.
She was predeceased by one son, Norman Elfeldt; and by one sister, Alice Crandall.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
Interment will be in the Columbus Corners Cemetery, South Edmeston.
Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin.
