NEW BERLIN – Cynthia Johnson Brazee, 66, of Schermerhorn Rd., passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
She was born Sept. 27, 1943 in Norwich, a daughter of Robert and Eleanor Collins Johnson and was a graduate of Earlville High School. She worked at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin as a cook for many years, and later as a transportation assistant. Cynthia was a talented seamstress who enjoyed making clothing for her family and herself. She was also a wonderful cook, a collector of oil lamps, and a car show enthusiast. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved going to all of her daughter‚s and grandchildren‚s activities and games. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Earlville.
Surviving are her mother, Eleanor Johnson of Earlville; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tim Thompson of Burlington Flats; a sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Anthony Cappadonia of Earlville; two grandchildren, Alexis Brazee and Cicelia Thompson; as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends, including her best friend, Wanda Gregory of New Berlin, and her beloved canine companion, Coconut. She was predeceased by her loving companion of many years, Mark A. Parsons on June 10, 2004; her father, Robert Johnson in 2001, and her brother, Douglas R. Johnson in 1988.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Interment will be in the Earlville Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
