Theresa S. Westcott, 84, of State Highway 12, passed away at her home on September 16, 2023.
She was born July 22, 1939, in Sherburne, NY, daughter of Santi (Sam) and Ruby Palmer Sharki. She graduated from Sherburne Central School, Albany Business College, and SUNY Morrisville. Theresa was co-founder of Wesco Service/Westcott Steel Co. Inc. in Sherburne handling financial and accounting needs for 25 years. She also was an accountant at Chenango County Catholic Charities for 22 years. She was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, reading and loved to take long walks. On January 30, 2005, Theresa married David Wern in Cortland, NY. Surviving are husband, David; daughters, Deborah Westcott, and Brenda Westcott both of Sherburne; grandchildren: Zachary (Kaley) Gramstad of Norwich, Nicole Gramstad of Utah, Brandi Simpson (James Flanagan) of North Carolina, Brooke Simpson (Kasten Pinney) of Smyrna, Morgan Simpson (Carlos Ithier Jr.) of North Carolina, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Marie Tarbell, and a brother, Anthony Sharki.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services and interment are private at the convenience of her family.
