Roger C. Agren, 84, of Georgetown, NY, passed away suddenly on October 12, 2023, at his home. He was one of the oldest original resident of Otselic.
Roger was born on October 3, 1939 in Sherburne the son of Erick and Alice (Crandall) Agren. He grew up in the Mt.Upton area where he attended the local school and had made his home in the Oxford and Smyrna areas. In 1963 he and his wife Julia purchased the farm in Otselic where he has made his home until his death. His life was the dairy farm working with his son Dennis and many family and friends helping on the farm. He enjoyed telling the story of their life on the farm. Roger enjoyed going visiting friends and going to auctions and going to Eaton Brook with the family. He also loved his SU basketball team. On July 28, 1960 in Norwich he married Julia Young who passed away April 7, 2000.
Roger is survived by his children Barbara Berg of Eaton, Cheryl (Ricky) Marshall of Otselic, Jill (Ricky) Collins of Otselic and Dennis (Virginia) Agren of Otselic; his grandchildren Loren Berg of Ohio, Ricky (Connie) Marshall of Otselic, Stephanie (Travis) McCranie of Pompey, Melissa (Josh) Brown of Otselic, Felicia (Luke) Greis of Attica, Andy Collins of Otselic, Allyzza Agren and companion Joey McUmber, Dennis Agren Jr. and companion Victoria LeDuc of Lebanon, Cassie Agren of Syracuse and Alex Agren of Otselic. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren and his siblings, Ann Decker of Ohio, Nancy Boyatt of TN and Rosie Baoy of FL along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his wife Julia, Roger was predeceased by his son Roger Agren, Jr. and sister Mary Jane Schaffer.
A funeral service for Roger will be held on Wednesday, October 18, at noon from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. James Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10-12.
