NORWICH – Robert Jelis, 80, of Norwich, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 in the Chase Memorial Nursing Home of New Berlin.
Bob was born in New York City in September of 1929. While living in New York City he was employed by the 7-Up Bottling Co., where he worked in the distribution area. Moving to the Chenango County area 40 years ago, Bob has made his home in Oxford, New Berlin and Norwich. While living in the area he was employed by the Community Work Shop and the ARC. Three of Bob’s most favorite things in his life were the New York Yankees, Brooks barbecue chicken and McDonald’s coffee. Bob’s family consisted of his many friends at the Community Work Shop and the ARC.
Graveside services for Bob will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Sherburne West Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
