KERHONKSON – Bruce L. Rogers, 56, of Kerhonkson, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital.
He was born on July 8, 1953 in Englewood, N.J., the son of Walter and Martha (Jones) Rogers.
Bruce had graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a bachelor’s degree in geology. He was a Process Engineer for Emagin in East Fishkill for the past 5 years. Bruce was a Paleontologist at heart and enjoyed rock hunting, collecting trilobites and crystals. He was extremely dedicated to his work and his wife, Eva, whom he married in 1985.
In addition to his wife Eva at home, Bruce is survived by his parents, Walter and Martha of Norwich; his brothers, James W. Rogers and his wife Rhonda Gould of Leonia, N.J., Mark C. Rogers and his wife Elke of N.C. and Craig H. Rogers and his wife Maryann of Little Ferry, N.J.; five nephews, one niece, his close circle of friends, Bill and Mary Ferguson, Gwen and John Lasoski and Ed and Diane Mues. He also leaves behind many dear friends and colleagues.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of his life will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
