NEW BERLIN – Betty T. Williams, 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly from New Berlin, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010.
She was born and named Betty Jean Tefft on April 18, 1932 in Norwich, daughter of the late William and Norma Tefft. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by one brother, Edward Tefft, and two great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by one brother, Charles W. Tefft and his wife Shirley; three children: a daughter, Donna Buck and her husband Bruce of Spokane, Wash., a son, John Williams and his wife Sandy of New Berlin, and a daughter, Diane Bruce and her husband Chris of Las Vegas. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great-grand children, and several nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Rita Yeska of Sherburne.
Betty grew up in the Norwich area, graduating from Norwich High School. Living in New Berlin she raised her children and worked at the North Norwich Plant of Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals for many years. After her retirement in 1990, she and her daughter Diane moved to Las Vegas. During her retirement Betty enjoyed Bingo and caring for her grandchildren.
Betty will be laid to rest next to her parents in the North Norwich Cemetery.
