Judy Lucier

On October 19, 2024, a loving wife, mother, sister passed away at the age of 82.
Judy Lucier was born on May 2, 1942, in Smithville Flats, NY. She graduated from Greene High School and went on to get her associate degree in Food Services from Cobleskill College. Judy retired from Greene Central School where she was the school lunch manager for 26 years.
On October 24, 1964, she married Nelson Lucier. They had four children Nelson Lucier Jr, Elizabeth Wells (Dennis), Angela Gray (Brett) and Pamela Merrill. Judy is survived by 11 grandchildren: Nathan and Olivia Lucier; Myron Wells; Darren Brooks, Kayla Wood, Cam Gray; Samantha Proppe, and Hannah, Luke, Chelsea, and Jaylyn Merrill. Judy’s great-grandchildren are Elliott Merrill, Issac and Jaiden Brooks and Kennedy Howard.
Judy was a loving, caring, forgiving, selfless person. This was evident in the way she lived. She was the last one to bed and the first one to rise, making sure the family had what they needed to make it through the day. She made the impossible possible. This was done with dignity and grace. Her grandchildren loved to be around her. She was the host to many tea parties and readings of the “Loud Mouth Frog.”
Judy was a good daughter and sister. After retirement she traveled with her mother and sisters across the United States to see relatives, seeking covered bridges and eagles. She had many friends that were always greeted with kind words and a smile.
Her caring and selflessness were evident with her involvement in St. Joseph’s Church as a member of the Alter Rosary Society and helping with funeral luncheons. She was involved in the McDonough Food Pantry and Recreation Committee and helped establish the first library in McDonough. She helped at the Common Cents thrift store in Oxford. Judy looked out for her neighbors making sure they were taken care of and had something to eat.
Judy was preceded in death by her father Lynn Huttleston and Mother Lois Huttleston, sister Dianne Anson and brother Richard Huttleston. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister Donna Huttleston and brother Gary Huttleston and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. Calling hours and a funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oxford, NY, on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
