Lane Boyce


OXFORD – Lane F. Boyce, 64, of Oxford, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, in the New York State Veterans’ Home of Oxford.
Lane was born in June of 1945 in Norwich, the son of Donald and Evelyn Lane Boyce. He was a graduate of the Norwich High School and over the years had made his home in the Norwich and Preston areas. For the past 20 years, Lane has lived in Oxford where he worked for the New York State Veterans’ Home for over 20 years. In his earlier years he had worked for the Norwich Knitting Mill and Procter & Gamble. A veteran of the United States Navy, Lane served his country during the Vietnam War from October of 1964 until his honorable discharge in October of 1968. On May 30, 1995 in Oxford he married Barbara Hinckley, who passed away Jan. 27, 2010.
Lane was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his fishing, hunting and camping. He also had a soft spot for all animals, enjoyed a good game of shuffelboard and was a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan.
Lane is survived by his step-children, Jason (Christina) Heisler and Thad Heisler both of Oxford, his brother Norman (Debra) Boyce of North Carolina, and his grandchildren Heaven Heisler, Dominic Bergstrom and Matt, Mark and Jared Marvin. Also surviving is his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Jerry Demuth Sr. of Oxford.
At Lane’s request there will be no formal services and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
