Frank K. Faulkner
Frank K. Faulkner, 89, of Norwich, formerly of Sherburne, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born March 22, 1935, in Norwich, a son of the late Fay and Hilda (Gaylord) Faulkner and graduated from Sherburne High School. He served his country in the US Army from 1955 until 1961. On June 11, 1956, he was united in marriage to Frinda Palmer in Oneonta. She predeceased him on July 17, 2007.
Frank owned and operated Faulkner Printing, Sherburne, for several years. Previously, in his younger years, he had worked for Dairymans League, Sherburne, Chenango Union Printing and at the Sherburne News. He was a member of the Sherburne Methodist Church, the Sherburne American Legion Post #876, The Sherburne Fire Department and Emergency Squad, the Sherburne Mason Lodge #444, the Oxford Mason Lodge #175 and Trinity Star Chapter #367 Order of the Eastern Star. Frank also served as the Judge for Sherburne and Earlville. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Syracuse University Basketball.
He is survived by his children: Rosemary (Larry) Barker of Sherburne, Susan Hill of Norwich; a sister, Lana Roske of Vestal; sister-in-law, Ann Faulkner of South New Berlin and SC; and Lennie Faulkner of CA. He is survived by grandchildren: Skipper Barker (Stacey Davis) of Lafayette, Kristal Barker (Mike Kelly) of Sherburne, Cory Barker of CO, Marinda Hill (Kate Smith) of FL, Karlie (Jayson) Johnson of Smyrna; great-grandchildren: Nikita Crumb, Merrick Griffith, Elise, Lily and Alex Johnson; and great-great-grandchildren: Raislynn, Jayce and Braedyn Crumb. He is also survived by his special friend, Marilyn Fuller.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law Frederick Hill; sisters Shelley Keator, Sara Faulkner; brothers James, Ronald, John (at birth) and Fay Faulkner. He also was predeceased by sisters-in-laws MaryLou, and Judy, and his wife’s sister Phyllis Skurat (Mickey) and her brother Kenneth Schroer (Karen). Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
Friends are invited and may call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY 13460, on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 1-3 p.m.
Donations in his name or in lieu of flowers may be given to the Sherburne Fire Department.
Graveside services with military honors will be held in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, in the spring.
