Jean L. Haynes, 90, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024. She was born in Norwich to the late Clyde and Sally Figary. She was also predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Robert Haynes; her son, Wade Haynes; and her brother, Lawrence Figary. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Nancy and Philip Smithson; her grandchildren, Cali MacDonald, and Tyler Smithson; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Camden, Maverick, and Avery; her sister, Doris Barton; as well as numerous friends.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Norwich, serving as Branch Manager for Sidney Federal Credit Union, she was a longtime member of the Canasawacta Country Club where she could often be seen perfecting her game of golf. She took part in water aerobic classes at the Norwich YMCA for many years and made many friends there. She also looked forward to her many trips to Tioga Downs Casino with her sister, Doris and was a faithful member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Norwich.
At Jean’s request, there will be no formal funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
