Bonnie L. Carrier

Bonnie L. Carrier, 74, of Norwich, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 5th, 2025, at Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
Born on March 24, 1950, in Norwich, New York, Bonnie was the daughter of Lester L. “Pat” Carrier and Dorothy L. (White) Carrier. From an early age, Bonnie valued hard work and persistence. She began working as a teenager at the Norwich Knitting Mill and waitressing at the Candlewick Inn. As a young adult, she began working at the telephone company. Unbeknownst to many, Bonnie was a powder puff driver in her youth and had her own motorcycle!
Bonnie’s commitment to improvement was unwavering. She put herself through college, earning degrees from an associate’s to a master’s. She began her career as the Director of Personnel and Civil Service for Chenango County in 1987. Bonnie retired from this position after 26 years of service. She devoted her life to her daughter and her work, exemplifying independence, strength, discipline, and exquisite attention to detail.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Vickie A. (Carrier) Wood of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter, Jamie (Carrier) Maistros, and son-in-law, Greg, of Norwich; her nephew, Theon A. Carrier, and his wife, Annette, along with their children, Zora E. and Quinn A. Carrier, of Phoenix, AZ. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Destiny L. Gladney, Brayden L. Maistros, Ella L. Maistros, and Alora L. Maistros, all of Norwich.
Bonnie was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Pamela Dianne Carrier.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be held on Saturday, January 18th, at 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Norwich. Friends and family are invited to lunch in the parish hall immediately following the service.
As Bonnie preferred action over attention, please consider memorial contributions to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church for their community hotdog lunches, c/o Father Steve White, 37 West Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
