OXFORD – Janet A. Johansen, 71, of Oxford, formerly of Staten Island passed away on June 3, 2010. She was born on Dec. 24, 1938 in Staten Island.
She leaves behind her long time friend, James Roxey: her daughters, Dawn Roque, Donna Fleming, Diane La’femina, and Cathie Oefelein; her brother, Norman Johansen, her step-son, Anthony Roxey, ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
Janet was a native Staten Islander and lived there until 1994, when she moved to Georgia and then to Oxford in 2008. She retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in 1994 after 18 years of service. She liked making floral arrangements, painting ceramics and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Burial will be in Wappinger Rural Cemetery, Wappinger Falls, at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford.
