NORWICH – Stephen E. Dicks, 24, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, June 27, 2010, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
The son of John and Cheryl Smiley Dicks, Steve was born in Norwich in July of 1986. Following his graduation from the Oxford High School, he attended SUNY Morrisville, where he was in the top of his class and achieved his associate’s degree. A believer in higher education, Steve planned to attend a four-year college and pursue a bachelor’s degree. Steve had a big heart and an interest in physical fitness and natural foods. He had worked for a time for Kutik Honey and was currently employed by Norwich Meadows. At one point, he worked for a contractor and was involved in putting the roof on the Norwich YMCA.
Steve is survived by his father and mother, John and Cheryl; by his brothers: Harry Meyers and wife Heather of Norwich, Matthew Dicks of Florida, Timothy Dicks of Idaho, and Michael Conklin of California; and by his sisters, Kara Conklin of Oxford and Cherrie Meyers of Binghamton.
A memorial service for Steve will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, from the Assembly of God Church in Norwich. The Rev. Dennis McKenna, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
