NORWICH – Michael J. Wilt went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2010. He was born May 29, 1970 in Meriden, Conn.
Michael graduated from Norwich High School and Potsdam College in New York. He later moved to Elkridge, Md., where he was employed by Aegon.
Michael is survived by his wife Mandi Boykin Wilt, his mother Carol Tessmer Wilt, four sisters-Christina Wilt of Redvale, Colo., Tricia Bates of Winchester, Kent., Renee Furman and her husband Todd of Little River, S.C. and Melissa Wilt of Norwich. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews- Michelle, Kirsten, Shyanne, Gabrielle, Megan, Justin, Nicole and George; his aunt Laureen Tessmer, his uncle Robert Tessmer and his wife Donna of Meriden, CTonn.; his aunt Freda Wilt of Windber, Pa., his aunt Rachelle Harris of Meriden, Conn. and many other family members and close friends he considered family.
Michael liked playing many different sports. He wasn’t afraid to try anything new. He was always happy-go-lucky, cheering everyone up when they were down, willing to give good advice and making them feel right at home. He lived life to the fullest and will be sorely missed.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Chalma W. Wilt; his grandparents, George and Anne Tessmer(maternal); Chalma F. and Mary Wilt (paternal).
Calling hours will be at Howell Funeral Home in Jessup, Md., Friday, July 9 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, July 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service to immediately follow. Graveside services will be at St. Bonafice Cemetery in Meriden, CT at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
