PITCHER – Neal L. Bonham Sr., 59, of Pitcher, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Cortland Regional Medical Center after becoming ill at home.
Neal was born in Binghamton on Sept. 8, 1947, a son of Chester and Belle Tinsley Bonham. A longtime resident of the area, he was employed as a truck driver and equipment operator for the Town of Taylor for the past several years. Prior to that, he drove milk truck for Don Wight Trucking. He was very proud of having served as a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict until his discharge in 1977.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lucinda Morse Bonham, of Pitcher; his children, Joseph Bonham of Cortland, Janet (Craig) Huntley of S. Otselic, and Neal (Bonnie) Bonham of Cincinnatus. He is also survived by his mother, Belle Bonham of Pitcher; brothers, Jim, Chet, Bill and George; nine grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus with Rev. Peter Bush officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
