Robin Hitt


NORWICH – Robin L. Hitt, 59, of Sheldon Street, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her home.
Born in Worcester, Mass. on April 5, 1951, Robin was the daughter of William P. and Evalyn F. (Paul) Wheeler. She was a graduate of Oxford Academy with the Class of 1970 and then worked for several years as a nurse’s aide at the Valley View Nursing Manor. She left her work to raise and care for her family.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Norwich.
Robin’s greatest love was her family, especially their reunions. On March 11, 1972, in Bloomville, she married Douglas F. Hitt, who survives. Robin is also survived by her mother, Evalyn, of Norwich and her children and their spouses, Tracy and Timothy Roys of Oxford, Jason and April Hitt of Norwich and Dee-Anne (Hitt) Cirello and David Cirello of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Kylie, Mya-Rae, Douglas, Ryan, Jenna, Emma, Paige and Nicholas and a great granddaughter, Lillian. She is also survived by four sisters, Dale Larsen, Lynne Walker and Dawn and Kristin Wheeler and two brothers, Gary and Joel Wheeler and many nieces and nephews. Robin was predeceased by her father, William.
A memorial Mass of Resurrection for Robin will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 31 at St. Paul’s Church. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m.
